What Comes After the Pause — Twizted Journeys, Est 2021 with Jason's Journey
Suicide Awareness

Breaking the silence
saves lives.

In the world we live in today, it is so very important to not whisper, hide, or be afraid to talk openly about suicide and mental health. Twizted Journeys advocates loudly so others don't suffer in silence.

S.A.F.E.

Suicide Awareness For Everyone

Twizted Journeys hosts S.A.F.E. events throughout the year — workshops, rides, walks, and community gatherings designed to break the stigma and open the conversation around suicide and mental health. Our events allow people to share the journey of their loved ones that have cut their story short, and also their own journey of continuing after a pause.

We are proud advocates with AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) and proud to be part of the Indiana Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Warning Signs

Knowing the signs can save a life. Trust your gut — if something feels off, reach out.

💬

Things They Say

  • "I wish I were dead."
  • "I can't do this anymore."
  • "Everyone would be better off without me."
  • "I just want it to stop."
  • "I won't be a problem for you much longer."
👁

Things You Notice

  • Withdrawing from friends and family
  • Giving away prized possessions
  • Saying goodbye as if it's final
  • Dramatic mood swings
  • Increased alcohol or drug use
  • Sleeping too much or not at all
🤝

What To Do

  • Ask directly. "Are you thinking about suicide?"
  • Listen without judgment.
  • Don't leave them alone.
  • Remove access to means if possible.
  • Call 988 with them or for them.
  • Follow up — keep checking in.

Asking someone if they are thinking about suicide does NOT put the idea in their head. It opens a door that can save their life.
